MINUTES OF HARLECH COMMUNITY COUNCIL MEETING HELD AT THE OLD LIBRARY, HARLECH AT 7.30 P.M. ON 04.07.22

 

APOLOGIES

Cllr.Gordon Howie and Cllr. Gwynfor Owen (Gwynedd Council).

 

PRESENT

Cllrs. Edwina Evans (Chairman), Christopher Braithwaite (Vice Chairman), HuwJones, Ceri Griffiths, Rhian Corps, Emma Howie, MarkArmstrong, Martin Hughes,Tegid John, Thomas Mort, Wendy Williams and Cllr. Annwen Hughes (GwyneddCouncil).

 

MINUTES

The minutes of the meeting held on June 6th2022 were found to be correct.

 

DECLARATIONOF INTEREST

Cllr. TegidJohn declared an interest in the planning application for Harlech Fire Station, and signed a PersonalDeclaration of Interest form and was not present when the application wasdiscussed

Cllr. Christopher Braithwaite declaredan interest in the planning application for Harlech Fire Station and signed aPersonal Declaration of Interest form and was not present when the applicationwas discussed

 

GWYNEDD COUNCIL MATTERS

The following report was received from Cllrs. Gwynfor Owen andAnnwen Hughes – Cllr. Annwen Hughes reported

 

MATTERSARISING            

BudgetPlan

It was reported that the Council had spent£18,382.67 (which included bankcharges) since the start of the new financial year and this was £17,427.71 lessexpenditure than what  was earmarked inthe budget for the year.

 

Ty Canol Signs

The Clerk reported that the decision had stillnot been made on the above application.

 

King GeorgeV Playing Field

Cllr. Christopher Braithwaite that Ms Tracey Dawsonfrom Harlech Ardudwy cycling group was going to transfer the grant money to theCommunity Council in order to purchase fitness equipment as this money had tobe spent on bike-related equipment. Cllr. Braithwaite informedthe meeting that he was still waiting for G. L. Jones' company to come andrepair the necessary equipment in king George playing field. Disappointment wasexpressed that one of the public seats had been damaged and it was agreed toremove it from the site on safety grounds and Cllr. Christopher Braithwaite andTegid John agreed to do this.

 

Gas Tanks onNature Trail Land

The Clerk reported that this matter had now been completed and themoney for the sale of the land had been paid into the Council’s bank account.

 

Bron yGraig Park

 

PLANNING APPLICATIONS

Demolishexisting training tower and construction of replacement steel framed trainingtower with associated lighting - Fire Station, Harlech (NP5/61/434B)

 

Retrospectiveapplication to retain raised terrace to the frontage of a main entrance - LionHotel, Harlech (NP5/61/L80H)

 

 

TREASURER’SREPORT

The Treasurer reported that there was £86,469.81 inthe current account and £31,099.95 in the reserve account.

Customs & Excise      -  £109.80  -  tax on Clerk’s wages

Mr. G. J. Williams       -  £180.00  -  cutgrass on football field and King George playing field

Mrs Yvonne Jones    -   £112.70 –  upkeep and clean toilets by memorial hall.

CORRESPONDANCE

Gwynedd Council – Environmental Department

Received a copy of an application for a premiseslicence from Caffi Llew Glas, Harlech from the Council's Licensing Departmentand asked if the Council had any comments to make on this application.

 

Snowdonia National Park

Received a letter from the above informing the Council that the applicantof the Weary Walkers Cafe, Harlech planning application had made an appealabout the decision to refuse the planning permission from the Authority andasked if the Council had any representations to make that they sent to thePlanning Inspector in Cardiff. Also noting that the comments that the Councilhas already made about this application will be forwarded to the Inspector.

 

Mrs karen Lucas

Received an e-mail from the above thanking the Council for doing the workon the trees on the nature trail near their house 18 Parc Bron y Graig, and askingwhether it would be possible to weed the weeds on the public footpath near theside of their house.
